Gary Coleman The Biggest Name
This man Has been known for many many years. He had a catch phrase from the early 80s that everyone knows. He seems to really dislike using it. At least that is the rumor I have heard for many years. He needed to be out there doing things that where not using that catch phrase, but it seemed everyone wanted him to do it when they hired him for stuff. Neat……
Now this man 20 years later, his name is still so huge he can’t pass gas in a private hallway without it being in media. His face being shown at no profit to him.
Meanwhile we have Tom Green running his video site and blog, living off of the advertisements he serves on his site.
If Tom Green can do it, if Chris Pirillo can do it, if Leo Laporte can do it, if Kevin Rose can do it, I am damn certain that Gary Coleman can do it, and he can do it bigger and better and be his own damn man.
Main thing is he needs Human Interface, some way that people can chat and communicate. The trick is to let them run a little wild, for a short while. Yes the chat or message board (or what ever) will go off making typical jokes at first, and repeating the catch phrase. But they will settle in as they get to know him.
Heck he could even do a thirty minute stand up podcast every week and make a nice roll of cash.. His name is famous. It is big and established. He needs this, we need this. The hiding and then taking what ever job comes up thing has to end. He knows damn well his name is bigger than enyone he has worked with in the passed twenty years doing short cameos.
Todd Bridges used to play on a softball team in Tomball Texas (or this dude looked and sounded just like him and everyone called him Todd) during the 80s and 90s . If it wasn’t Todd, well at least he was a nice guy. I asked about Gary a couple of times but was assured that Gary was no one to mess with. i mean it wasn’t like i wanted to punch Gary in the gut, I just wondered if he was going to do any movies.
Ok that was odd of me, just wanted to say it for a while, and well, since I have a few readers, I hope it gets to him. I think he is a cool dude.
