She has made contact and is safe. Boat lost mast but is still upright and she has plenty of food and water. Abby is okay.

Ok simple facts.

Abby Sunderland Lost at sea. He brother was the youngest person to solo trip the globe. she is a year younger. She is 16. her parents let her travel the world alone at 16 in a small boat. During the roughest weather season.

Her father has been saying ” Her boat is deigned to not sink”. Good, otherwise, that would be a submarine.

She is clearly to young to be doing this. It was probably her current dream yes. but she has not experienced enough in life to factor in all of the issues she could be facing.

There is speculation that the parents are in it for the notoriety. Really that can’t be determined. The son broke a record for being the youngest, the daughter is one year younger than the brother was when he achieved this record. Time was limited. You make what ever assumption you want.

Pirates must not have been a worry. Tidal waves typhoons, hurricanes food, sun stroke, none were a factor when the parents sent her off like that. School was not a good reason for the parents to put a foot down.

Now all we can do is hope that she is safe.
