This stupid light keeps coming on on my car. The car is only three years old.
My car just licks when I try to start it and then when I take my hand off of the key, the car starts right up, but the OnStar Remote Ignition Block light stays on.
Maybe it’s a battery issue. Maybe it’s an alternator . Maybe it’s a computer fault. I have no idea.
I haven’t paid for onstar in a while, and my remote has been disassembled on my desk.
I noticed the issue with the ignition block light came up soon after I got this remote case and started using the keyless remote/alarm again. but again, as soon as I noticed the issue I have reduced my battery consumption so I took a0part the remote (in case it was constantly clicking something I haven’t noticed… or something). When I first noticed the light coming on, I assumed my alarm was doing good and detected an issue. and then I noticed the light one day when my car was in the garage and the alarm was not set all night.
I will try autozone and Oriely tomorrow and see what they say. I am sure that which ever issue is the most expensive, they will both suggest it.
I just need my car running right. I would hate to miss a day of work right now.

Don’t buy a part you don’t need. Auto Zone will test your car’s parts for free. We can test your car’s battery, alternator, starter and voltage regulator while they’re still on your car. We can also give your car a complete starting and charging systems test.
You can also take your alternator, starter or battery into our store and we’ll test it. In most stores*, we can also test voltage regulators, control modules, coils, throttle position sensors (TPSs) and other engine management components.
