Having a good friend is a commodity that is in high demand and short supply. Just hearing the word “friend” can invoke lots of thoughts ranging from being reminded that you haven’t talked to your friend in a while and need to give them a call to recalling that “friend with benefits” you had back in 2001. “Friend” is not statically defined; it is a dynamic word that takes on various meanings.
You will not find success in the form of a gift wrapped box handed over for your delight. There is no success to be found in a gift. To truly understand success, you have to be will to work, and work hard. I think that even people who get to experience success even once in a lifetime understand the basic notion that success isn’t granted, it’s earned.
Breasts can be a woman’s occupational hazard. Sometimes, I see the women in the National Geographic magazine and think that our super advanced western civilization seriously missed the mark in the ta-ta management department.
For Father’s Day
As Father’s Day nears, I love to reflect on my grandfathers, my dad, and my husband. I grew up with the fortune of having wonderful men in my life (minus the top 10 worst dates). Not a lot of women can say that and mean it. So here’s my take on the men in my life who have made me really appreciate being a granddaughter, a daughter, a wife, and a mother.
“My mother breast-fed me until I was six years old until I self-weaned. Her encouragement to breast-feed is why we were so successful.”
“It’s really warm. It’s like embracing your mother, like a hug. You feel comforted, nurtured and really, really loved. I had so much self-confidence as a child, and I know it’s from that. I never felt like she would ever leave me. I felt that security.”
