Golden Corral Humble Texas
Back in 2000-2003, a girl I know, and myself used to make trips to the Golden Corral on Fm 1960. It was a treat for us to go to Golden Coral once a week. We lived in an apartment less than a mile a mile away, so the whole trip was no work or effort.
Today I made a trip back to the old Golden Corral. Right off the bat I am freaking out. This is a buffet and the cost for two people is $26. At a buffet!???? I step up to get my food and there is a scrambled angry mass. You have people standing in front of food reaching three feet away to grab food from another location. They all get upset when you reach past them. It’s like some weird co-op prison scene. It’s a buffet people, you get your food you move. You just move to the location of what you want, quit camping on the squash you weirdo.
We make it to the table and realize we forgot the utensils. So we get up to grab forks and knives. Not one fork, not one knife. not one regular spoon, they are all huge funky shaped (looking like you scoop sugar with em) spoons. So now I am upset, but we get back to our table, and now the guy working there comes to me and tells me they are closing that section. I understand he has to close it so I thank him and relocate, He offered to let me go ahead and sit there, but I really didn’t want to get the guy in trouble. I sit at a table that I seem to have to share with another family. The waitress {thing}(it’s a buffet is she still considered a waitress or is there another name for them?) comes over there and asks if I need anything. ” Yeah I would like a fork”. She says “???????”. So I said it again, she was still puzzled, so I did the fork motion, because she clearly didn’t understand me. So I puff “If you do not speak the language do not ask the question”. I am not one of those people who are all about ” Learn the language”. I am about if you are asking me a question in a language, be prepared for me to answer the question in that language. I had to actually make fork motions with my hand. Because she could not understand me.
Finally she brings forks to the table. No way I am using that dang thing. So now I get up and grab a steak. I bring the steak to the table and by the time I sit down, the plate is smothered in blood. My potatoes are red from so much blood.
I shove the plate to the side and go grab chicken and a baked potato. The chicken was crunchy to the center. I was finally getting some food in me but I have to shove the chicken aside. It’s not safe that crunchy, I could have picked my teeth with the splinters of meat. So now I am at a point of giving up. I get up from my seat and hear the lady loading fresh utensils into the fork tray. So I run and grab two forks now while I can.
So now I am eating a salad. The salad was actually good. Maybe I was really hungry.
As a place of business, that calls it’s self Golden CORRAL
This place is the least civilized restaurant I have been to in quite some time. You truly feel as if you are going to get in a fight over an over cooked chicken wing, and the wait staff will not do anything because they are burned out from the amount stress they have faced.
Paid 26 dollars at Golden Corral for two plates and got less than what I would have gotten at Kentucky Fried Chicken or Popeye’s or Taco bell. Half of the food was undercooked while the rest of it was over cooked. Except for the salad and the baked potato. I left the house thinking I was going to a good meal. I got a salad and a potato.
My stomach has been hurting and really badly swollen all day since.
Now for my totally and completely useless unprofessional untrained opinion, score, that you should never base your decision on.
10 is the best and 0 is the worst.
Value per cost: 3/10
Taste: 3/10
cleanliness: 3/10
Final Total score 3/10
I will never go back to that Golden Corral. They need police in that place.
Wings n More Buffalo Wing Review
Looking for good buffalo wings in Houston? [How I review Wings.]
Found a Wings n More on 290 between W. Tidwell and Fairbanks N Houston
10 piece hot Traditional Wings. Ranch.
Smell vinegar right away. After a few minutes of soaking in the heat and my nose running from the first wing I ate ,while I snacked on my chili fries and siphoning my tea to cool my mouth . The flavor barrage started to dissipate and now I can enjoy the tastes. The wings are just the way wings are supposed to taste. not crunchy, not raw. Just the right amount of moist, warm and tasty.
Curly chili fries very good. must have been more than 2 lbs of fries and chili and cheese.
Cashier nice and funny. Really sweet lady

Lunch At Pei Wei
Great asian food place on Fm 1960 in Houston
You can Google it yourself.
Best meal I had in a while.
When you walk in you see a wall on your left with six foot digital menus. Either the menus kept changing or my memory really sucks. You walk right up to the counter and place your order, pay your total and get your drinking cup and a number, then find a table and wait for someone to bring you your order. This kills the whole idea of a tip for me. I hate not tipping when someone brings me stuff, but I paid with credit. and well I had no idea what I was in for. So I was not prepared.
I get my food and turn to see a small dining area. The place looked as if it used to be a barbecue place. Lots and lots of brown wood looking stuff.
The Smoked Korean Beef with fried rice. Amazing. Did not taste like you think Asian food to taste. The flavor was a bit smoked. Greens cut perfect so you don’t have to fold them when you shovel them in your mouth. A bit much on the chives though. The sweet and sour was home made. Hade a hint of what seemed like Tabasco and a dash of vinegar. Had to be vinegar, my sinus kept bursting with every bit. It was worth it though. Together that was a nice mix. As far as I noticed, not one Asian person in the place. Not one.
I have to give this place a score that only I can comprehend because I am not certified at anything in food judgment so don’t bet your life on it 9/10
I really enjoyed the meal.
Oh p.s.
Someone very near by got the chicken fried rice and was not amused, said it had no flavor. I will surely not get that, I will go back for more of the spicy Korean Beef again.
